My years at the Bauhaus

In ‘My Years at the Bauhaus’ Werner Feist describes and reflects his life and studies at the famous school. Feist describes his impressions of the unconventional teaching methods in the preliminary course with Josef Albers, lessons with Paul Klee and Wassily Kandinsky, in the advertising workshop with Joost Schmidt and the photo workshop with Walter Peterhans and not least in the stage workshop with Oskar Schlemmer, with great liveliness, sensitivity and precise characterization of the personalities that surrounded him. This first-hand information gives the reader a deep, sometimes even intimate view of life at the Bauhaus Dessau and is of great value to the historiography of this institution.
