Jump over the Bauhaus, Dessau
T. Lux Feininger, around 1927
[Translate to English:] headline
Carried away with enthusiasm for the game of football, two Bauhäusler, Xanti Schawinsky and erich Consemüller, powerfully crash into each other with the Bauhaus Building as a backdrop. The law of gravity seems to have been revoked as the plate camera’s shutter release was activated. T. Lux Feininger usually carried this camera with him when he went to the Bauhaus. The familiar environment provided the best motifs for his photographs, which are characterised by dramatic plays of light and shadow and convey an energetic impression of life at the Bauhaus to this day.
